In 1935 the DB 600 – a supercharged V12 engine with inverted cylinders – was one of the most powerful aero engines, used for both military and civilian aircraft.
Legend 3: Mercedes J 4 L airship engine.
The J 4 L four-cylinder engine was used from 1908 to power airships, among other the LZ6 through to LZ8 Zeppelin passenger airships.
