The S Class Saloon from Mercedes-Benz is the pinnacle of big luxury saloons, packed with the latest technology, detailed attention to the interior design, beautiful handling and power makes for a vehicle that can rival a full-blooded sports car.

The saloon’s standard air suspension ensures a smooth ride and wind or road noise is almost completely cut out. Steering is quick, agile and well weighted and there’s plenty of grip. Active cruise control senses and maintains safe gaps when driving around town or on motorways. It even slows for roundabouts, corners and tolls thanks to the GPS input. Other semi-autonomous driving technology includes Active Speed Limit Assist, Active Lane Change Assist and Remote Parking Assist all work to make driving and parking the luxurious executive limousine a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

The Keyless Go comfort package for convenient unlocking, start and locking, high-performance composite brake system, closing aid for doors, remote boot lid release and electronically heated and adjustable wing mirrors further increases the luxury tech embodied in the S Class’ design.

Nothing has been left unconsidered on the interior either. The dashboard incorporates dual screens set into quality leather, wood and metal to display expected instrument and infotainment information. Ergonomics ensure the ultimate in comfort for the interior and this is backed up with more technology. The Energizing Comfort Control system links to climate control, seat adjustments, massage, and heating, lighting and stereo controls to enable car occupants to tailor the interior’s mood to their exact requirements.

Room to relax is certainly provided in this saloon and leg room, head room and passenger space are more than adequate, underlining the fact that comfort is paramount to this design. Luggage and stowage space include a 510-litre boot. The optional extra fridge compartment will reduce stowage capacity by 40 litres. ← read less
