When’s the Best Time of the Year to Lease a Mercedes?

We know that when it comes to finding your new Mercedes lease you want to get the car as quickly as possible and as cheaply as possible but it can be difficult knowing when you’ll be able to get a deal on a car that can be delivered soon at a great price. This is why we’ve put together this article to help!

What’s the Best Month to Lease a New Mercedes?

When you choose to lease a Mercedes the best month to do will be slightly different to when it might be best to buy one. This is because with leasing the monthly rentals are calculated taking into account the expected residual value of the vehicle at the end of the lease agreement. A general rule of thumb is that the newer the model the better resale value it will have at the end of the agreement and so you might find great lease deals on the latest Mercedes models for a short period after they are first released onto the market.

Though new models can be released at any time of the year you will find that the majority will be available to the public in March or September, which make them traditionally the best months of the year to lease.

Additionally, with the release of the newer models you may find there are deals on the previous model version due to dealers having stock they need to move. If you’re not worried about having the very latest model then this could be a good opportunity for you to get an incredible deal.

Coincidently, March and September are the months that new vehicle registration plates change, which means that there may be pre-registered models that need to be delivered quickly which you can see great deals on. Pre-registered vehicles are new cars that have simply been registered before onwards delivery has been arranged, however they need to be delivered quickly to avoid the funder considering them as used vehicles due to the time passed since registration.

End of the Month / Quarter

Many dealers will have delivery quotas to meet on the number of Mercedes they have sold / delivered and these will usually be set monthly or quarterly, so you might find the odd great lease deal pop up at the end of the month or quarter.

As a company that works with Mercedes dealers across the country Mercedes on Lease are able to find these deals, even when it’s just on one or two cars at a remote dealership which means you’re always able to find great prices on our site.

End of the Financial Year

Similar to monthly and quarterly targets most dealerships will have an annual target that will be based on their sales for the fiscal year. So, just like at the end of the quarter we’re likely to be able to find some great deals from dealerships who need to sell a few more cars to met their targets.

It’s not just the dealers who have targets though, so do the funding houses and so you might find they offer a better deal if they have not met these yet.

Off-Peak Times

Another time of the year when you might be able to get a great deal on your new Mercedes lease is during the quieter times, such as the school holidays, Christmas or at the start of the year when most people aren’t looking to lease a vehicle. As the demand is not traditionally as high at these times some funders and dealers will try to offer better lease deals in order to attract customers.

Delivery Lead Times

One thing to bear in mind is that while you might be able to get a great deal on a new Mercedes it may not be ready for delivery straight away. This is especially true right now with the automotive industry still recovering from the long-term impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and now seeing additional strain from the war in Ukraine, there are delays to vehicle production and movement that means delivery lead times are extended and may continue to change as the crisis continues.
